Frequently
Asked Questions:
What
can I use tile art for?
Photographic tile art can be used
to give a room a new perspective and an enhanced visual look.
There really are no limits to bind your imagination. Our unique tiles
can be used
for murals, wall decor, kitchen and bathroom back splashes, flooring,
tabletops,
tub and shower surrounds, decorative accents, coasters, countertops,
jacuzzis
and spa room, just to name a few potentials.
Is
there a special way that photo tiles have to be installed?
No, installation is easy.
You use the same methods as any ceramic, stone or porcelain tile.
Is
any special sealant or grouting required?
Sand free or silicone grout caulking
should be used for installation on glossy or satin finish tiles. Other
types of grout
may scratch the image surface during installation. Sanded grout can
be
used on Tumbled Stone and Porcelain Tiles.
What
about cleaning and care of photographic tiles? Anything special required?
For cleaning and care of photographic tiles it is best to use only non-abrasive
cleaners,
such as a glass cleaner or denatured alcohol.
I
have a custom home and I want a tile mural that represents my specific
location.
Do you accept commissioned work?

Will
my digital prints fade?
Digital prints have a comparable stability to traditional photographic
prints.
Under typical home and office conditions these prints are expected to
last 60 plus years.
Our prints conform to archival standards consistent with collectible
art.
We use pigment based archival inks. No dyes are used.
Additional materials used are of archival quality, produced by reputable
manufacturers.
Prints are produced one at a time and combined state of the art technology
and craftsmanship.
What
is the best way to display my digital prints?
You should matte and frame a digital print just like traditional
prints. You do not want
to have the print touching glass and of course the glass should be clean.
Do not display
in direct sunlight or near high humidity or heat.
Can
my digital prints be laminated?
It is recommended that you do not laminate your prints because of the
heating process.
Are
there any precautions necessary for the care of my digital prints?
The primary difference between traditional photographic prints and digital
is their sensitivity to heat.
It is best to avoid exposing digital prints to high temperatures for
long periods of time like
leaving them in your car, above a heater or in the sun.
How
long after I place my order for tiles or prints will it take to receive
them?
Because of production time putting the inventory together please
allow about four to five weeks for delivery.
Each print and tile is printed on demand and is a one of a kind order.
